UBIMET: Hot and humid with high chance of thunderstorms during the day
Vienna, September 13, 2016 – Singapore to host the fifteenth Formula 1 race of the season this weekend with UBIMET delivering high-precision weather information as the official meteorological service provider. In Singapore, hot and humid conditions expected with a high risk of heavy showers and thunderstorms throughout the week.
Weather conditions throughout the week will be predominately dictated by the presence of the SouthWest monsoon. For the majority of the week, mornings will begin as mostly dry and sunny with cloud building rapidly to thundery showers between late morning and early afternoon. As common in the tropics, these showers may be heavy at times accompanied with the hazard of strong rain and gusty winds. The highest temperatures will range from 30 to 34 degrees.
Evenings and nights will remain mostly dry with temperatures not below 25 degrees.
As the race, practice and qualifying sessions will take place after sunset, the chances for dry weather conditions are rather high. However, thundery showers cannot be excluded completely with further forecast details to be provided on a daily basis.
