The renowned brake system manufacturer has focused on optimising brake cooling efficiency with new heavy duty calipers in aluminium with finned casings to improve heat dissipationThe company continues its ongoing commitment to improve and develop brake system components both for the upcoming season and in view of the 2016 season, when new regulations will call for a mandatory change to aluminium calipers instead of the aluminium-lithium units used until now. Many factory teams have already started testing with the new Al calipers this year to acquire experience with them ahead of their rivals. Two types of aluminium calipers are available:- light duty, designed and optimised for use with standard pads;- heavy duty, conceived specifically for use with high mass pads.

These latter components feature a finned casing which increases the surface area in contact with air, for even more efficient heat dissipation and significantly lower operating temperatures.Remaining on the topic of friction material, Brembo's decision to already start offering larger diameter 340 mm discs in 2013 has proved to be a wise one, as since last year, when changes in regulations opened the doors to this solution, these discs have been adopted as standard by many teams.

The MotoGP world championship begins this March 29th at the Losail circuit in Qatar, and will continue through 18 events to conclude on November 8th at the Spanish Valencia circuit. This year 96% of the drivers chose the superior performance, reliability, safety and innovation offered by the Italian company, the undisputed world leader in competition motorcycle braking systems.

14 riders are using Marchesini forged magnesium wheels This year also sees Marchesini wheels used by the majority of the teams competing in the premier bike racing series. In view of the 2016 season, when there will be a different tyre supplier (and a change in wheel size from 16.5" to 17") and new homologation standards for wheels, Brembo has already supplied Marchesini wheels meeting the new specifications for the main factory teams, so that they can prepare ahead for next year's season.

Marchesini is a Brembo group brand specialised in manufacturing sophisticated magnesium wheels, with products used by teams winning numerous past editions of the MotoGP championship.

In addition to technical data relative to the braking points of each circuit, this dedicated section also offers race fans countless other fascinating facts about the braking systems created for the machines competing in the premier bike series.
