The
circuit with artificial light in Sakhir, Bahrain gave place to this year's
dramatic Grand Prix of Formula 1 thanks to the drivers of Mercedes AMG Petronas
F1. The start was easy, even though both cars of Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 went off like
lightnings with the rest of the field left behind. The two drivers kept
battling till the very end. L.Hamilton crossed the finish line first, Nico
Rosberg behind him.
After 25 laps the classification was as follows - Hamilton, Rosberg, Bottas, Massa,
Hülkenberg, Perez, Alonso, Button, Vettel and Räikkönen.
Both cars
of Williams Martini Racing reached excellent positions, when V.Bottas was in
the 3rd place for a long time, changed by F.Massa. However, the
3-stops strategy kept him back and, moreover, V.Bottas had to give up his place
to the Sahara Force India's driver S.Perez, who kept it till the finish.
On the
lap 31 a terrible thing happened. In the first corner Maldonado literally
rammed the F1 car of Gutierrez, who came somersaulting up in the air, landing
on all four, though pretty badly shaken, having sat in his car for quite a while he finally got out of his car. The Safety Car went out immediately which
reduced the running race to the train of cars trailing behind. Esteban
Gutierrez got a ten-second stop-and-go. The race was really attractive for the
viewers.
