During 1971 cooling problems emerged at the already mentioned March 711, therefore parts of the bodywork were removed and the car was equipped with the alternative engine Alfa Romeo 33.3, derived from the 33 type for performance cars. Frameless body is riveted of aluminum sheets reinforced by steel and light alloy cross bars . The front oval downpressure wing is especially apparent.
