The Monte Carlo qualification was a carbon copy of the previous one. The dominance of BRAWN GP cars and the skill of their drivers showed also on a "slow" circuit of Monaco. In the last lap of the qualification J.Button got to the first position once more. Button also took the leading position immediately after the start, Rubens Barrichello fought well from the third to the second position, K. Räikkönen third. On the lap 10 there was a collision of Rosberg and Piquet, who had to stop. Another collision Heidfeld/Hamilton, Hamilton retired. Vettel kissed the wall with the side of his car on the lap 16 and retired. 26 laps to go Kovalainen failed to steer his car right and crashed into the wall. A black day for McLaren Mercedes, Hamilton came 12th.

Button wins leading from the start to the finish and it is his fifth victory this season, firming his position in the Championship. The second is Barrichello again.
