Rear wheel pitman

The rear wheel pitman is constructed similarly to the front one, which means that the central part housing the bearings and the outer part housing the pivots of the axle shoulders are joined by a number of ribs. Such a design not only makes it light and rigid but also allows the ram air to get to the brake discs. The rear pitman differs from the front one especially on its perimeter, which is caused by a more complicated shape of the rear axle shoulders asking for higher number of them, plus more complicated shape of mounting points for the pivots of the individual shoulders. As the pitman counts as unsprung mass, its weight has a substantial effect on the chassis ability to cope with road roughness. Therefore it is made of very rigid but light titanium.
