ROSS BRAWN PRIZE WINNER OF “F1 EXCELLENCE AWARD BY BREMBO”

Alberto Bombassei, Brembo Chairman, will confer the award for 2017 to the current Managing Director of Formula 1.
The award ceremony will take place Friday 1st September at h. 17.00 in the Hospitality area of Liberty Media F1 inside the paddock of Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.
(Stezzano, Italy, 30 August 2017) – On the occasion of Formula 1 Italy Grand Prix, 13° round of 2017 World Championship, Brembo Chairman Alberto Bombassei will assign to Ross Brawn, Formula 1 Liberty Media Managing Director, the prize “F1 Excellence Award by Brembo”.
Ross James Brawn has held several roles during his career in Formula 1, working as Ferrari Technical Director, as Team Principal for Mercedes and Honda, the latter being team Brawn GP. Since January 2017 he has been appointed Managing Director of Formula 1, acquired by Liberty Media.
The award, previously named “Bernie Ecclestone Award by Brembo”, was established by Brembo Chairman Alberto Bombassei to reward every year, on the occasion of the Italian Grand Prix, the personalities of Formula 1 which, more than others, contributed to strengthening and supporting worldwide the excellence of this sport thanks to their passion and constant commitment to technological innovation, founding values that have always been at the base of Brembo modus perandi.
The award, representing a Formula 1 braking system, will be assigned during a ceremony scheduled on Friday 1st September at h. 17.00 in the Hospitality area of Liberty Media F1, inside the paddock of Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.
The prize was born in 2011, when Bombassei Chairman gave to Bernie Ecclestone a braking system personalized with the colour of the Italian flag to celebrate the 50° anniversary of the Company from Bergamo. In 2012 the award was assigned to Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Ferrari Spa Chairman; in 2013 to Niki Lauda, non-executive Chairman of Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team; in 2014 to Sir Frank Williams, Founder and Team Principal of Williams F1 team; in 2015 to Jean Todt, President of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile and in 2016 to Marco Tronchetti Provera, Pirelli & C. S.p.A. Executive Vice President and Managing Director.
