SRT Corvette in International GT Open with Hamilton-Tutumlu as from Silverstone

In 2014 the Belgian SRT team is competing in the full International GT Open championship, with a Corvette C6.R GTE. This season the Belgian team has already won at the Nürburgring and Portimao, with additional podium places in three of the four meetings. As from next weekend, at Silverstone the Spaniard Isaac Tutumlu will be joined by the promising British driver Archie Hamilton, and this duo will take on the rest of the season for the Brussels-based Corvette team.
In Germany the Dutchman Nick Catsburg and the Belgian Maxime Soulet ensured the yellow Corvette’s first success in the International GT Open, after which Isaac Tutumlu teamed up with the Belgian for the rest of the season. The fast Belgian won in Portimao and recently also clinched a podium place with the Spaniard. As from Silverstone the team will be calling on the services of Archie Hamilton. Patrick Selleslagh provides a detailed explanation regarding the decision:
“As often is the case in motorsport it involves budgetary reasons. Archie has a number of sponsors allowing the team to finish off the season on a high note. From a personal point of view it is a decision I made with a heavy heart, not because of Archie of course, but with regard to Maxime Soulet. Maxime is one of the best European GT drivers, with whom in the past we have enjoyed some brilliant moments, and still hope to in the future. Maxime is part and parcel of the SRT family, and should the opportunity arise to work with him again tomorrow we would not hesitate in doing so. However regrettably the economic reality has obliged us to make this decision.”
As from next Friday in Silverstone, where the season’s fifth meeting is being held, Archie Hamilton and Isaac Tutumlu will do everything within their power to ensure the further success of the SRT Corvette.
