The true Silverstone..
What the spectators couldn't see in France they watched in Silverstone. The practice already revealed that it was going to be much more the race of equal rivals at the fast circuit. Renault and McLaren especially proved their determination to keep their current standings in the table. B.A.R. and Toyota matched them pretty well. Ferrari had to retreat to the grounds it has reached so far (Barrichello 5th, M.Schumacher 9th). Räikkönen must have shift 10 places back due to the engine change again, even though he drove the second best time. It was Montoya who showed the McLarens quality. He sneaked to the lead from the 3rd position on the grid and dominated the place until the end. The drivers behind him (Alonso, Barrichello, Trulli and M. Schumacher) didn't change before the first pit stop. Räikkönen got to the 9th place very fast but then there was M. Schumacher and Trulli ahead of him who are hard to overtake. He managed to get over them no sooner than the next pit stop. He stayed in the 5th position to the second pitstop when he jumped to the 3rd place after Montoya and Alonso. There were Fisichella, Button, M. Schumacher, Barrichello and R. Schumacher to follow. Both leading teams confirmed their priority position in F1. B.A.R. gave a hint of comeback to the last year's level. Ferrari kept their position. However, everything might be differrent after the next GP in Hockeiheim. M. Schumacher won three times there, Barrichello once, just like Montoya. Alonso won points there once, Räikkönen never. It is definitely going to be an intersting match of powers.
