This year's GP of the USA was a great victory for McLaren Mercedes, who only Ferrari could keep up with. Lewis Hamilton won start-finish style for the second time in his life, whereas his teammate F.Alonso came second, although during the race he unreasonably manifested that he is the number one and demanded the first place. However, Lewis had everything under control and generally performed as if it was his hundredth race in F1 rather than the sixth. Felipe Massa kept close to both McLarens and his teammate Kimi Räikkönen managed to get close behind him and towards the end of the race even tried to pass on him.

Lewis Hamilton went like a wind right from the start and kept his first place from the grid, F.Alonso shot immediately after him, trying to catch up, but in vain. R.Schumacher retired as soon as the first lap, followed by D.Coulthard in the second one, this year the guy with the worst luck, as well as R.Barrichello with a technical problem. Nico Rosberg retired four laps to the finish with his engine burst from the sixth place. He was obviously angry about the machine, literally jumping out of the burning car. Another unlucky one, V.Liuzzi retired two laps before the end because of a technical trouble. The youngest freshman S.Vettel reached points in his first race in Formula 1 and became the youngest driver to win points in history. There were a lot of passing manouvres in the race and genarally it was a „peaceful" one, without a Safety Car.
