Amazing race, especially the final stage. Bridgestone's deficiency appeared again, and Michelin suffered some problems too. 5km to the finish, practically at the end of the penultimate lap, Kimi Räikkönen's right front wheel's suspension got torn off. The spinning car missed Jenson Button's B.A.R. by centimeters, which was really a stroke of luck. Who knows what could have happened. Kimi ended up in the barrier but got out of the car unharmed, which is yet another proof of the current cars' design - especially the monocoques. Pretty misfortunate situation for both Kimi and the team, as he was keeping the first place practically from the beginning. That could be the decisive points in the Championship. Alonso got the windfall of the 4th victory in the season and made his team really happy. Thanks to the technical problem of McLaren Mercedes Rubens Barrichello also got to the podium.
