Fernando Alonso won the GP following Kimi Räikkönen's dramatic start, seemingly the start-finish win style retiring however after the lap 35 with a stuck engine. That opened the crack for Alonso, who didn't let his chance slip and won the 6th GP this season. J.P. Montoya finished after him and Jenson Button, who overtook M. Schumacher, came 3rd. M. Schumacher, although he was at promising 3rd position, had to face the tire troubles and, in spite of the true mastership he showed, was overtaken by Montoya, Button and finally also Fisichella, so he came 5th in the end.
