tension before the GP was literally thrilling. There was a theoretical chance for three adepts to become the Champion. L.Hamilton's position was the best, then his team mate Alonso and literally theoretical K. Räikkönen. There were some speculations as to the possible Alonso's knocking Hamilton out, or a technical problem, weather and other unpredictable conditions. The Friday's practice gave the first hint. F.Massa got to the first place, followed by Hamilton, while it seemed that their fuel loads were equivalent.

Everyone expected a tough fight in the first corner, that was supposed to be the decisive moment! That was exactly what happened and K. Räikkönen made it to the first place, followed by the pack of F.Massa, F.Alonso and L.Hamilton. F.Massa was in the lead part of the race, however he changed place with K. Räikkönen between the pitstops and Kimi stayed in the lead afterwards. For the first time and at last he became the World Champion 2007. After the race there were some further speculations brought on by BMW and Williams, about possible shifts in the final standings that might give the title to Hamilton, the questionable item being illegal fuel. The council took some time to decide, eventually confirming the final standings, which definitely acknowledged Kimi as the Champion. You should not forget that Kimi won one third of all races, but still finished a mere one point ahead of the others. I think that he really is a pilot of calm head and that he might be quite similar, in some aspects, to M.Schumacher.
