Fernando Alonso comes to Bavaria City Racing

Double world champion Fernando Alonso will drive the ING Renault F1-car at Bavaria City Racing in Rotterdam. On Sunday the 16th of August 2009, the Spaniard will drive his Formula 1 car across the Willemsbrug, Coolsingel and Hofplein.
The driver is happy about his presence: "My team mate Nelsinho Piquet, who drove twice in Rotterdam, told me some great stories about the event and the enthusiastic audience. I hope to entertain all the fans along the track with an impressive demonstration’.
Also Herman Vaanholt, of the Bavaria City Racing-organization, is extremely pleased with the arrival of Alonso: "Fernando is one of just three still driving world champions in Formula 1. So it is fantastic and unique that such race hero is part of the program in our anniversary year.’
Bavaria City Racing
Bavaria City Racing is experiencing in August its fifth edition. In recent years it has become THE car racing event in the Netherlands, with in 2008 more than 500,000 spectators. Fernando Alonso
Fernando Alonso was born on July 29, 1981, in Oviedo, Spain. He has developed his self into one of the most complete drivers in Formula 1 nowadays. He awarded his commitment in 2005 and 2006 with the world championship for drivers in his Renault, the team where he returned in 2008 after one season with McLaren. Until now he won a total of 21 Grand Prix and 17 pole positions.
