Porsche Sports Cup 2017
(Orlando / Echternach, 3.6.2017). MOMO Megatron Team Partrax is in Hockenheim this weekend (3rd to 4th June) for the second round of the Porsche Sports Cup.
South African Ewan Taylor will drive the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup at the iconic 4.5-kilometre circuit. As at the season-opener at the Nürburgring, Katarina Kyvalova from Hamburg will be at the wheel of a Porsche Cayman GT4 CS MR for the team from Luxembourg and America. “We are looking forward to the next round of the Sports Cup,” said team principal Andreas Leberle.
Bernhard Laber and Katarina Kyvalova finished first and third in their class in both races at the opening round of this season’s Porsche Sports Cup, which took place at the Nürburgring. Ewan Taylor crashed out whilst running fifth in his first GT3 Cup race. “We picked up four trophies on the opening weekend at the Nürburgring,” said Leberle. “We want to be up at the front of the field again in Hockenheim.”
MOMO Megatron Team Partrax has had no time for a breather over the last few days. The team was in action in the principality of Monaco last weekend. Egidio Perfetti (Norway) finished an excellent second in the amateur class at the second round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which shared the bill with Formula 1. Nico Rindlisbacher made his first appearance at the narrow, crash barrier-lined circuit. His qualifying session was less than ideal, and the Swiss driver started the race from down in 24th place on the grid. However, he produced a dramatic fightback to finish 14th and score valuable points towards the championship. Paul Rees from Great Britain was less fortunate, and was unable to complete the race following a collision.
