(Orlando / Echternach, 8.6.2017). This weekend (09.-11.06.),
MOMO Megatron Team Partrax will line up in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland in Spielberg, Austria. This marks the team’s debut in this racing series. “We have wanted to race in the Carrera Cup for a long time. It is a top-class series with a good programme,” says team principal Andreas Leberle. He also expects “ideal competitive conditions” at the Red Bull Ring, looking ahead to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup races at the same venue at the start of July. “This is the best possible preparation for us.”
Switzerland’s Nico Rindlisbacher and Egidio Perfetti (Norway) will be at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for the team from Luxembourg and America, as they tackle the undulating 4.326-kilometre circuit in Spielberg. 21-year-old Rindlisbacher from Oberwil is contesting his first season in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, in which he is eligible for the Rookie competition. Perfetti lines up in the Amateur class in the Supercup, which he won at the opening race in Barcelona.
The Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, the oldest German one-make cup, takes place at race weekends in the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) and the ADAC GT Masters, and comprises 14 races plus an additional event – the World Sportscar Championship, held at the Nürburgring in the middle of July. Rounds five and six of the championship will be held on the same bill as the ADAC GT Masters at the Red Bull Ring. However, as guest starters, Rindlisbacher and Perfetti are not eligible to score points.
MOMO Megatron Team Partrax enjoyed great success in the Porsche Sports Cup at the Hockenheimring last weekend. Katarina Kyvalova (Hamburg), at the wheel of a Porsche Cayman GT4 CS MR, finished runner-up in both of the races in her class and headed home with two trophies in her luggage. South African Ewan Taylor was eighth in his class in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
